How would the workflow described here work with Logic Pro X - have you tested it with other DAWs?

for now, the Tangerine Automation Interface is fully compatible with Protools and Reaper.
We will test the interface with other DAW's in the next few weeks and we will update the blog once we will be able to confirm that it's also compatible with Logic.
