E channel preamp pots making issues.
« on: December 29, 2018, 12:57:05 AM »
Hi.
I’ve got a few e channels that are giving me grief.

Does anyone know of a replacement pot for the e preamp.
Or a replacement that will have a similar value range.  Maybe not with phantom switch?

Hi,

Are you using Total Recall? If you are not it will make it easier to find a replacement.

How many do you think you need?

Why do you think it's the pot?

(These questions are probably not in the right order!)

Hi Andy,

No total recall.

Mostly its the E channels that are bugging me...
I actually dont think its the pot now that i think of it. Im guessing its a switch or chip maybe? Once i turn the pot to push gain / voltage through the channel i get a clean signal, then sometimes it intermittently fails away. . . I find myself fighting these e channels moreso that the G channels. But the G channels are 10 years younger...

I do get a substantial "pop" when i engage or disengage the phantom with this push pull pot tho... Unsure if thats normal.

I would guess i need 10 or so if i were to replace the ones that are being jerks...

Im going to order switches today first to see if that solves the problem.

that sounds more like the cap on the negative input gain voltage divider.

this is the transformer input card right?
