Hi all,

I have four SL611S stereo channels wich I am going to start recapping. The input card does not match with the schematics of the service manual downloaded in this forum.
Does someone have other schematics of  the input card 82E201? The input cards of our stereo channels do not have 220uf 25v Bi-Polar capacitors defined as, C100, C101, C102, C103....

I have attached some photos.

Thanks in advance to all.

Best regards.

Oihan

I've added my 1988 6K training manual schematic to the Tech Docs....

Thank you for answering, but the schematic you have loaded is the same included in the service manual and is the one wich does not match with the cards we have in our SL611S channels.

Our input 82E201 cards have been recapped years ago and they have soldered polarized 220uf 35v (8 capacitors) on it. I thought that maybe they have been replaced with polarized caps instead of non-polarized by the old owner. But our cards do not have C100, C101... capacitors named on the PCB, the numbers does not match with the schematics and also, I found some pictures online Attached the picture) where the input card has 220uf 25v bi-polar capacitors as shown in the squematics of the service maual and schematics you have loaded.

If someone has other schematics... I would be very grateful.

Thanks again.

Sorry, I didn't look close enough at the schematic before uploading it.
Out f interest, is there a date on the Tested sticker? Just wondering how old your cards are.

Hi,

Yellow testing stickers of those cards are from 1986.

Thanks for your interest.

Ah, sussed it!
If you look at the Change column on the right hand side, number 5 tells you what happened when they added C101 etc.
I've now also found an the old version of the schematic showing how it was......

Hi all again!!

I have another doubt with these 82E201 cards. There are some LF351 op-amps on our 82E201 cards, but they are installed (by someone) in different sockets (comparing between different cards) and I am not sure where should go LF351 ICs and where NE5534. As far as I undesrtand:

-IC T2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, (11)??, 17 and 18 are NE5534.
-IC T19 and T20 are TL072.
-T16 must be TL074.
- T1, 3, 12, 13, 14 and 15 are Hybrid op-amps
- T5 and T7 are LF351

Could someone check the attached  schematics and give the opinion? I am talking about 82E201_rev3 cards (old version from around 1985).

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

I would be inclined to put the LF351's in the same place as on the Rev 10 schematic, T6,9,17,18.
SSL obviously did that for a reason in the Rev 10 from the Rev 3.

Hi guys! Could you repost the 82E201 pdf? Unfortunately the link is down.

I know this is an old thread that was only bumped up to get the schematics but...oh dear. The later changes to add the capacitors and replace the 5534s with 351s (???!!!!) were in 1986 and 1987, so that should mean I did them, but I didn't remember this at all. (This was all a Trevor Stride design originally). The reason for fitting 351s in place of 5534s would have been to stop a huge bang out of the monitors when you switched phase or mono. Naff thing to do though...but actually as I'm writing this I'm beginning to remember that I might have done it...

Hmmm...

5534 chips and Trevor Stride, SSL designer stuff.
« Reply #14 on: June 25, 2020, 10:03:21 PM »
Hi Andy (and hope you are well and busy these days).
Yes Trevor Stride did some design work on the SSL stereo module as well as the 6K 688 (both versions which I helped wire up the prototypes for) and some modules for the 5K of course (input modules and compressor at least).

SSL used the more expensive 5534 chips as you know and Joh East was also involved with incorporating some of them in a blue hybrid form for the 5K stuff. Ring any bells with you?
