Turn of Total Recall?
« on: August 23, 2012, 09:34:48 AM »
Hi Guys,

We have put all of the problems down to the TR cards, We took them out and all the CUTs behaved. I'm going to be sending these off to the UK for a look.

What I'm finding now though is the barographs (on the computer) aren't responding to the fader position etc etc.

Is there a way of turning TOTAL RECALL off in the computer so the SSL doesn't think it exists?

Stef.

Oh the plasmas are a whole new pain in the ass to deal with today (see my other thread)

I think they are responding OK. However the bargraph display on the computer that shows fader positions doesn't seem to want to behave now the TR cards are out.

The computer says "Yes".

I want - "COMPUTER SAYS NO"  ;D

I can't seem to find any pages where I can change the state however.

So it's either a jumper setting, just like when you remove a Multiplexer from a channel you set the bypass option.

Or you have to fix this is software.

At this point I'm guessing not knowing the computer well... but get it to say NO, and I'm sure you'll be ok

Yep I still want the computer to work to give me automation. There has to be an option somewhere in software to say "NO" I couldn't find it in any of the setup pages though..

Maybe it's some secret factory setting that wasn't for the user..

type SSL EX 4100 EX , then setup EX the computer should say something like 'you shall pass..'

this is the main setup menu where you can change everything, i think also the TR status.

hope this helps

Hi Erik,

Thanks, yes I discovered this today. SSL, 4110, EXECUTE, SETUP, #.

I set the TR to NO but there was no change unfortunately.

The faders are all working when not in MIX mode. When I go to mix all has changed, The computer bargraphs are mostly up to +10 and don't respond to fader moves.

VCA groups, P/VCAs and master fader are all working fine.

did you check all the tests in the !tes menu? do the faders show up correctly in the analog input test? if not, maybe the a/d card is faulty.

are you running a daul i/o setup, and if so, do you need to? you might be able to just lose the faulty card without even exchanging it. up to 56 channels single i/o s fine.

also, try doing a fresh console setup. delete all faders in the objects menu, and put them in again manually (type 'here' for master fader). then also redo the bargraph layout.
not sure if this applies to vcas, it certainly can help if ultimation is behaving funny.
the ultimation fader test file is stored within the bargraph layout file. not sure if anything like this is also happening with vcas.

Howdy, I tried pulling each analogue i/o card out and booting, same deal.

The analogue I/Os would test perfectly with the TR card in the cage, now the !TES /I / EX shows mostly 0000 which equates to +10 or 0V.

Here's a pic.

A bit perplexed....

Oddly enough... CH19 works.
