4K DIY Track Arm Numbering
« on: July 14, 2012, 07:31:37 PM »

As my channels are from all four corners of the world, decided to tackle the random track arm numbers.

In the UK you can buy the blank lenses for £0.96p each, and white 3mm transfer lettering sheets from Ebay £3.49p

I love the look  8)

Thinking now, a spot of clear nail varnish over the number, any suggestions??

Nice idea,
the varnish would hold down the lettering but I am not sure it would look great, a bit too thick perhaps...
we need something a bit more "transparent"...

a quick passage with transparent varnish perhaps? from a can.

PS= where did you get the lenses from?? they look identical to the originals!

Mattia.

Yeah, they're EAO series 01 RED lenses, so same as the original.

Varnish for plastic model kits worked perfectly, just a light dusting as Mattia suggested:

End result:

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC Sintech!!!!!
Really impressed with the result!!!
did you get them all right at the first shot (of spray)?
was it difficult to understand how much varnish to put?

Used too much first go, and that blurred the numbering, had to clean it off and start again.

Three quick bursts from a distance gave a perfect look. 15 minutes to dry, and you can rub them with your fingers.
