balance left/right on master section
« on: June 23, 2015, 11:14:58 AM »
Hi!

Is there a way to calibrate master balance left/right on ssl4000E ?
When I send 1k signal in "tape in" of each channel, I have a 0.5 dB difference...
Thanks

We are able to balance each one of the bus cards for our 6K(A, B, and C bus) separately.  My guess is that there's a card in the center section that allows this for the 4K.  On ours the cards are labels 82E256.  The pot you want to look for is labeled VR1.  A tech could shed more light on this, but that's what we typically do to balance all the buses on the 6K.  An extender card would be very helpful on this, but not absolutely necessary.

I'd love to hear any more info on this.  I have a 6k myself and mostly mix through bus A, but B&C are slightly tilted.

There are also trims in the 651.

I should probably get a card extender for 651/688 buckets.  If anyone's hip, please let me know!

you don't need extenders as I recollect, you need to raise the 651 and adjust
