Talkback Pedal Stopped Working
« on: April 09, 2026, 07:44:44 PM »
Hi everyone. I have a talkback pedal on a 4064G+ that stopped working. It is connected the standard way - A6 and P2 of DL59 to a standard switch pedal, normally open. It worked for years.

It's not working anymore and I can't remember if the connection should be normally open or closed. Furthermore, I can't definitively nail down which card the DL connection leads to - I think it's the 24 card, but nothing on the pinout screams "External TB Switch." I don't have the producer panel switch - it's just the normal center section button and the external pedal wired into DL59.

I have manually shorted A6 and P2 to no avail - nothing happens one way or the other. No relays click, nothing changes. Something is broken. If I knew where the DL connections lead (what card) I could check for a broken connection, either at the EDAC or on the card.

Let me know your thoughts.

I also have this on one of are SSL 4K's. I have a floor switch, hand held switch and 2 wall switches with lights. All switches have to be normally open. This signal goes to the "31" card. Could be a broken wire, Could also be one of the DL pins is not mating. Could also be a logic chip or fet on the "31" card. The fets do die. I've replaced many.
