Hi

Studio tech of some years.
Lots of experience with SSL E/G/G+  4/6/8K variants. More recently I've installed Duality and Origin consoles.
Also worked on consoles that weren't SSLs (Neve, Studer, EMT, Amek, Trident Etc.)

Installed desks in many studios (Townhouse, RAK, Point Blank, Mayfair, Olympic, Soho Sound Kitchen, Echo Zoo and many more)

Can provide patchbay systems. Both static and "Portable"

Portable systems allow you to pack up your studio, relocate and set back up again in a fraction of the time it normally takes.

Hi Bob
I am Jim Lassen, the wiring moderator on here (since 2012) and interesting to read your post.
I have also worked for some of the studios you mentioned in your post.
I can't fix anything but I know about studio wiring stuff, especially older SSL's (I worked there from 1980-87 in the early days) although I almost made an old Neve from scratch and have designed the wiring layouts, bought all the parts and wired all the ten Focusrite consoles ever made with my team back then in the early 1990's.
I also pride myself on patchbay design and have designed and made some in the past for different studios.
Maybe worth getting in contact with our combined expertise perhaps.
Look forward to hearing from you at some point and regards from Jim Lassen.
My Facebook wiring page shown below but not updated for a few years!

Hi Jim

I think we've chatted in the past about stuff.
Yes would be good to compare notes etc.etc.
I see you're in Bucks. Where abouts?

I'm based down outside of Eastbourne, but I'm up and down quite often (Currently in Suffolk for the day working on an SSL)

Cheers

Bob

Hi Bob, ta for reply and for some reason, I can't remember us having communicated before (perhaps a bit of brain fog as I have been on painkillers for five months now with a fractured spine vertebrae).
Nevermind ... I am actually in Taplow, Bucks, right by the Thames River bridge with Maidenhead across the river and Taplow in Bucks this side.
Send me an email when convenient and I will give you my phone number unless you already have it somewhere.
