SL651E Master Section Total Recall
« on: January 25, 2022, 10:48:28 PM »
Hey all,

Does anyone have any knowledge of total recall for the SL651E master section? It seems that most all pots - with the additional 100k linear deck, and the Alps switches with a spare pole, were selected to incorporate TR for the master section.
I've not seen any evidence that it was ever implemented.

Maybe those on the inside might be able to throw some light on this topic.

Anthony.

Good point Anthony about the centre section Total Recall stuff.

In my 7 years at SSL (1980-87) I don't remember any Total Recall for the centre section but I may be wrong. As each channel has a TR card (03?), I guess it would mean a lot more cards within the 651 to make this happen and there was not enough space in there anyway.
In those early days the plan was for TR only on the channels when mixing as the centre section was mostly about speakers, stereo replays, echo sends and returns plus other one off stuff so, probably no need for it.

Hope this helps from Jim in the UK.
