Hi Marc. I agree with your statement but bear in mind that this forum has only been active since July 2012. The posts have dramatically increased recently and are now past the 1000 mark. There are over 100 members so far and the daily views have been up to 60 so, not bad going since Mattia (Mata Haze) started this really!

What I can't understand is the lack of Japanese members as there are a shed load of consoles over there. I keep spreading the word about this site to everyone I know in the Pro-Audio industry including old SSL employees who I worked with years ago, distributers, installers and users of course. This site is getting a bigger audience and I feel that it will take off even more this year as it becomes known as THE SSL support site.

I do wish that SSL themselves would contribute though. It won't do them any harm and could enhance their image in future. If you users keep older consoles going (and I know you have refurbished your console to a high standard) and have a means of obtaining spare parts and knowledge with the help of this site, it would mean that, at some point in future, a current 4K owner may ... just may, be inclined to buy a new SSL. So, SSL, please get on here now!

I'm amazed that we now have 220 members on here and I've noticed that almost one new member is coming on board every week which is great news.

At Christmas time 2012, there were 89 members so, an increase of 131 in 15 months (averaging nearly 9 per month). Mattia must be very proud and people like Andy (Sintech), the new computer project people and those working on a replacement power supply are certainly helping to keep the SSL name alive.

I still wish that SSL could contribute something. Maybe, when (rather than if?), a new computer system is developed within this community, SSL could take note of that and add something to the mix (pun intended). They won't be happy if this happens as they think that, by extending the life of the older consoles, their sales of new consoles may be affected but, it just could jolt them into providing some form of acknowledgement at least. Perhaps they could share a list of suppliers for various components and other parts like some of the other manufacturers do with their older consoles?

I think that a lot of the members on here couldn't afford a new SSL. Also, they realise that SSL is not supporting the older products any more and so this is the place with all the expertise. You are all managing without them in servicing your consoles and one day, when you have saved up enough money, you may be inclined to buy a new SSL. Therefore, they should acknowledge this SSL community in some way and not treat it like a threat.

Anyway, well done all and I need to do some more wiring posts soon as I've been slacking on this for a long time now.

Jim,I share your feelings on the forum members rising so much and so quickly for such a specialised sector.
I am pleased extremely pleased with this.
just for the records: we have blocked 202,705 spammers up until now 

I hope we'll keep on growing and having people like yourself, Sintech, Marc mozart, Paavo and Artur looking after the various sections it's an honour.

I've been proud to belong to this amazing community. We've all been doing great things and it's been a joy to see it grow. I'm sure that with baby steps we'll grow even more and accomplish great many things. Everyone's is committed and contributing with important material/know-how and I feel the information and usefulness of the forum is getting bigger/richer by the day. 

I also feel that I've already made good friends in here, and for this reason I'd like to suggest a get together in the near future so we can all meet face to face and have fun!

Since I last wrote about new members on my earlier post on 25th March 2014 when the membership of this forum was 220, I see that we now have 230, an increase of 10 in just under a month ... WOW.

UPDATE: 24th May 2014. Now 238 members, an increase from April of 8. Wow again and about 1 new member per week.

I guess the word is spreading around that this is the place to be BUT, still no sign of SSL and some other related players coming on board! Hello SSL, are you there?

Anyway, good stuff people with at least one new member every week recently. Mattia will be even more proud than before.
