Verifying the CF661E POWER SUPPLY Fuse mod **SOLVED**
« on: January 29, 2015, 07:38:46 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have a CF661E I need to do the fuse mod on. Does anyone have any pictures or a good description of where the fuse needs to go?

Also, what is the "Current trip" on the front panel for? Some don't seem to have it. Does it replace the need for the fuse mod?

Have you downloaded Service Manual? It's all there.

Current Trip is placed just before power switch in AC line.
25A fuses in power rails are placed just after rectifiers.

It's in the SSL Service manual? I'm not seeing it... Which page? Which manual?

I have seen a few supplies with 20amp. Do you think that is enough?

SSL 4000G Service Manual, section 9, page 9-ii

Amp rating is up to console size. ie how much it's consuming.

Some discussions about fuses and what might happend without them:

25 amp fuses after the rectifier on the audio rails are fine for any 661.
