I remember having fixed the power supply of a 4000B one day, end the 90's.
The console was humming hard, the big audio caps were dead, empty.
It was at the personal studio of an artist near Toulouse, in the south of France.
He had bought the console in NYC a few months ago, with a Studer A800.
It is my only experience on a 4000B and I have no idea where it is now...

The very first SSL I saw was at this annual french "Pro Audio Show", at the Sofitel Sèvres, in Paris, 1977 (or 78 ?)
And yes, it was a lot way ahead of its time : a mixing console with a TV inside !
