For PSU purposes, I usually use http://www.silenx.com/de/ixtremaprofans.asp

They do have the best airflow / noise relation

As I don’t know the 4000 (I am a 5000 user) I recommend checking the current fans for their airflow and go as near as possible to these values.
I use the above mentioned fans in my SSL 5k regulator racks.

They are not PWM controllable (afaik) but the deliver high airflow at pretty low noise.

Cheers

Looks nice, and pretty cheap compared, and you run those on 12v ?

it depends (as always),

I also use them at lower voltages when I am after lowest possible noise.
There are external controls buyable which change the voltage depending on the temperature.

One thing to mention though is, I read that you have to be careful not to break them when installing.
The whole thing is very light and because of that the material is easy to bend or break.
I didn't have any of these problems so far with these fans - in total I might have about 10 of these installed and never had a problem.

You get quite some information about these when reading carefully through the manufacturers description.

Cheers,
Matt
