Hi Roymixer

I built several of these Keyboard splitter boxes for SSL when I worked there (1980-87) and know about the wiring although the 6 way Lemo connector shown on your diagram was probably a later addition.

Not sure what you need to know exactly but let us know so we can help.

Hi Roy,
You have all the documentation that there is as far as I know.
The serial/parallel interface was made by Alphameric Keyboards LTD. in the UK who are long gone.
I have a couple of complete G remote k/boards and interfaces with all the cables if you are interested.

Hi Jim and Phil.

I have a smaller e-series size keyboard in my G+ -  I was  thinking of building a small panel with some macros that would generate the parallel data (keyboard keystokes) using a micro controller.
so  I am investigating how ssl had two keyboards talking on the same parallel keyboard input.

Both "E" or "G" remote keyboards just connect in parallel to the keyboard ribbon to/from the computer.
The G has the interface in a separate box that lives under the console and connects to the remote keyboard via the Lemo cable so that you don't have a cumbersome 50 way ribbon attached.
You can use "E"or "G" remote keyboards with either "E"or "G" integral keyboards.
Someone was selling an E remote keyboard on eBay a while ago.
