Wrong monitorlevel
« on: October 20, 2020, 08:28:28 AM »
I got wrong monitor level on one of the sides. The monitor is "skewed" I got f.ex 1 volt (1kHz) on one side, and 0,4 volt on the other side. (measured on the xlr to my monitors and on the patch)

This problem is on main and mini monitoring. I have tried to use the monitor trims, but it is not enough to make it right.
I think the problem is on one of the 82E22 cards...

Someone who have seen this problem before?

Regards

If the problem is common to both the Mains and the Minis, I'd be looking at the '24 card first.

Yes, the problem is common to both the Mains and the Minis.
What can be the possibility here? Replace all the NE5534 op-amps, or maybe it is the BC212 transistors?

I'd start by replacing the electrolytic capacitors. Faults with the op amps and switching transistors tend to make the signal disappear all together, rather than reducing the level slightly. Do the VU's read the same, or are they skewed to one side like the audio?

Thanks for the advice, Chris!
The signal out from pre/post master VCA is good, its just the monitor level who is wrong.

SOLVED!

Thank You Chris!

I replaced C5, C6, C7 and C8 on the 82E24 card. rplaced them with 100uF, 16V. Now the level is +/- 0,002V on the L/R monitor channel.

You're very welcome. I'm glad the fix was easy.
