SSL 4000 4.01 Boot Disk
« on: May 02, 2021, 03:24:58 AM »
Help. All my program disks got corrupted while having 3.5" floppy problems.  Does any have a copy of the 4.01 program disk or is there a way to make one without using the SSL computer?

I don't have the needed tools or a 4.01 disc any more, but if you get a disc, you can copy it in linux using Gparted. Gparted is a standalone linux kernal that can be run from a optical disc or a thumbdrive. Its available free on line with instructions that are pretty easy to follow.
Gparted makes bit by bit copies of drives, which a floppy or diskette are examples of.

of course if any one can copy a disc for him it would be easier. :-)

Does anyone have instructions on how to make a bootable disk not using the SSL computer that the computer will recognize?

I was able to write the disk out. I used a program called RAWWRITE. Thanks for the disk iso. I really appreciate it.

Now to figure out why my reel disk can't been seen!

With a new program disk, my reel disk is being seen. Strange.

Now I have to reconfigure my console in the Objects menu.

My console is 4000G with 48 mono faders, 8 stereo modules, 4 patchable VCAs, and of course 8 VCA groups.

What is the proper way to configure the objects for this configuration?  Also, what does IMO stand for?

With the new program disk, my fader names are coming up weird when trying to customize the bar graphs.   When I press channel 1 it comes up at V5.

Thanks for all your help.

Your cables from console to computer in right slot?
Glad someone had the image.

I saw that I have 3.01 in my G+ computer.

I'm a missing something good?
Haven't found any info what the different version can do.
