27 card - T11 T12 resistors burnt
« on: July 05, 2015, 11:17:51 PM »
Hello all,
After a recap of my center section,  I'm having some issues with my 27 card.
The card doesn't have T11 or T12 fitted, but instead has 2 bridged resistors across it's legs.  Unfortunately,  These burned up when i powered the console on and i can't tell their values (also not noted in the schematic)
Anyone know their purpose and values?

I was able to get a read off of one of the resistors.  They appeared to be 10R. Probably used as fuses.  Just swapped them out and all is good.

You are correct - the resistors are 10 ohm.

Early designs had regulators fitted, whilst later production boards had the regulators and some of the associated regulator support components omitted, replacing the regulator input-to-output path with a pair of 10 ohm resistors in series. The function of the resistors is to give some decoupling isolation from the main power supply rails and as such, they will also act as protection "fuses" albeit wit the disturbing  and panic-inducing release of smoke in the event of a fault.

Hey Dan

You might want to put the regulators back in the limiter card along with the capacitors.. it sounds a lot better that way.. That card always sounded too mushy to me.. especially with C-8 being bipolar!
