You need to modify the stem of the switch to match the pot shaft extension.

The pots actually seem fine, it's the little pushbutton switch attached beneath them that goes bad.

Anyone have a part number for a replacement? I'm looking for DPDT latching pushbutton switches that would fit, but not coming up with anything from Mouser. It seems Recycled Audio may sell a modern replacement - maybe I'll get in touch with them.  It's just a long way to ship some switches to the USA.

I gave up on trying to clean switches a while ago. Less headache to simply replace them.

The Cue send switches are a little tricky, but once you get going, it takes me about a half hour to replace an entire channel worth.

Anthony.

Sorry I might have been unclear.  If the switches worked reliably, I'd love them.  I can't seem to get them clean and working.  Constant scratchiness, dropouts, and distortion on the headphone sends.  They're just old, dirty, and unreliable. I did a pass of contact cleaner and deoxit which gave a little relief, but for the most part I still find them going bad.

If you dont like the switches just leave them all on. Why would you do hours of work wiring them out just because you dont want to use them? If they are faulty, then fix them.

You'll get used to it. Think of it as a bypass a/b switch.

These push switches for the cue sends on my 6k are really annoying me.
I'm tempted to hardwire the switches to the "on" state and just use the knob position for the send. It seems to be a harmless and easily reversible mod. Is there any reason I should avoid this?

The click sound and feel is satisfying, but a clean and reliable headphone send would be even more so.
