Title: SSL 6000E Master Section Issues!!*SOLVED*
Post by: mixedbyjct on September 28, 2018, 08:01:40 AM
Hi all, Im new to the forum so bare with me! :o

Recently bought an SSL E6000.. all in all the console is flawless and sounding pretty good. There are a few issues I am having I am hoping someone might be able to help. The main issue is the master section. When the console is in program mode I get a considerable volume drop in level and the meters. If if have the console monitoring straight from the 'ABC' the volume and metering is correct but as soon as I press Program it dips. Also the bus compressor is not working correctly. When adjusting the threshold of the compressor the meter needle moves like a dial?? There is no compression happening. I assume these are all linked. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Hey James, nice you found this place.

The compressor fault will be on the 82E27 card (compressor Time constants) in the 651 centre section, I'd probably re-cap the electrolytics if they're original (if you have Orange ones, these turned out to be especially leakey 30 years on!) Take a pic!

Cheers Andy! This is a great resource.

I will take a pic tomorrow and post it. I think a recap is in order. I was testing yesterday and was getting quite a bit of distortion through the program. I will try and put a video up aswel

Cheers again.
