Very interesting information!

You guys are awesome for the amount of knowledge :)

Making my cap order tomorrow, I like to have enough caps for any piece of gear i buy, that way im sorted and can rebuild when i have time. Just waiting on word from Roger the SSL tech around here, We're gonna chat tomorrow and make a plan. Unsure about Panasonic or Nichion or Elna, but thats for another discussion.

These Spare cards... any worth in keeping them? or put em up for sale...? ...

Sometimes its the meter nuts holding the board on to the meter. The bolts inside the meter come loose. Remove the board, make sure the bolts are tight in the meter, refit the board.

that seems to indicate that it is connectors that are giving you problems. Spend your time going thru and cleaning and re-tensioning the connectors not recapping. That will probably fix your problems if each module checks out well already.

Then, when the system is working correctly, you can evaluate and see if recapping is needed. Keeping the activities separate will cause you less grief in the long run.

No problem...give me a day or two and I'll try to come up with a ramble on a new thread about how Paul Frindle and I came to spend 1987 in a garden shed, things to do with a solder sucker when bored, and why Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" album sounds really good through a G series EQ...

Sadly, I've ridiculously few photos - just shows how times have changed in the digital age.

Cheers, Andy

Hey Andy.

Feel free to ramble on about anything. You have any pictures from back then?

Could you talk about the changes from E to G and the design of the 292 eq.

The x4 comment is a now a classic.

Thanks for being here. 8)
