G+ Computer dodgy video output
« on: August 04, 2023, 12:48:14 AM »
Hi Everyone!
I'm new to the forum and enjoying all the wonderful knowledge on these pages!

I am having a problem with an SSL 4056G+ computer video output.
The video output comes and goes, sometimes is alright for hours, sometimes looks very fuzzy (see photo) and sometimes is completely gone.

- The problem is present in both component and composite video outputs.
- I already tried swapping the monitor and cables but had no luck.
- I already reseated the video card inside the computer chassis but no luck.

Any suggestion is very welcome!
Best
Michele

Hi Michele,

Welcome to the forum.

Is the video issue limited to the primary computer, or is also a problem with the Total Recall?

Did you re-seat both the video distribution card, and the Keyboard/VDU card?

At a guess, your issue is on the Keyboard/VDU card. Check the 34 way ribbon cable that goes from the main Keyboard/VDU card, to the VDU card. It is folded 90° and can get damaged.

There is also a coax cable coming from that board which may have come loose.

Anthony.
