retrofitting bargraphs to an SL8000GB
« on: July 30, 2013, 05:28:29 PM »
Hi Guys,
We purchased a complete (almost) working plasma meterbridge for our console.
We have all teh bargraphs, ribbon cables and motherboard.

What we dont have is, and im not sure if we need this or not) is a switch panel, that on our console where I believe this would have been has a bank of 9 switches which are labelled as different things, although not actually in use on our console.

and also we're not sure how to get power from teh bank of power switches to teh motherboard.
any pointers here would be appreciated, our psu's do have the 250v switch.

actually made some headway now and think we've gotten our heads around it. but now we cannot find the 'b5' power connector that should run from the console to the metering motherboad. any ideas where this is located?

cheers

Hi, B5 is a 12way BICC running from service switch and breakers panel. This normally has it's own switch to turn off the plasmas.

If your console is VU it could be B5 is not fitted, and you'll have to add this in.

Also bare in mind that the power supply mathematics is done also at the breakers panel end, you may need to boost 250 up to 263 using the +13 rail.
