Some faders of my ssl4040 EG (I'm using it without computer) still give sound even if they are completly down?
Some ideas???

Ok.. can you see movement when in VCA to Monitor, for that fader?

Did you swap over the fader for a known good one?

Is the sound faint, or fader full?

Thats the first step.. you need to work out ..is the fader, the connections to the module, or the module it's self.

really faint

This phenomenon appears on some faders on the desk....not all...I'll try to swap with a good fader first...ok!

if you wake up one morning and your little Mini-SSL ("Test Console" as I think you call it) is gone...

Are you running jumpers so that you're without the computer?

Might be worth checking they're ok.

Title: Computer bypass ribbon leads (jumpers?)

Hi dudes

Just for the record, the computer bypass (jumper!) ribbons are made up as follows.

50 way IDC connector (as fitted into the console connector panel S14E slots ... Faders 1-8, 9-16 etc) with a short 10 way link back in again.

The 10 way ribbon is secured into 1 - 10 on the connector and links back in to it on 11 - 20. It only needs to be a few inches long (say 6" or 150 mm). Pin 1 links to 11, 2 to 12, 3 to 13 etc.
