Title: SSL G+ console master fader impedence
Post by: neumann25 on March 23, 2014, 04:45:13 PM
Hello Folks

Does anyone know the SSL G+ center section P&G Master fader impedence? I know the early E series used 2.7K Penny & Giles master fader and the early G's used 8.2K P&G fader.. But someone told me the G+ fader impedence was even higher.. can anyone shine any light on this?    Thanks

I've used a standard channel VCA Fader for this before. If you think it's just got to handle the single control voltage, in a very similar way to the Channel.

I know any fader will work, but the sound is different with different fader impedences, even though it just drives the voltage..

One of those things.. very little info in the E and G service manuals. Maybe someone with a G+ console, can have look under the hood.

Be also interesting to know the value of the Electrolytic cap between Master Fader wiper and ground.

  Sintech

In my 4000E console, can I just remove  my black 242 E cards and replace with the brown 82e02 eq cards , and if there are any mods what would they be to make it work?    thanks

DCR is the term you are looking for, and the sound will not change but perhaps
the taper will change.
