Title: How to swap Brown EQ with Black 242 EQ

Hi, I have just bought an SSL E Series 4000 console- 611 channel strips with brown EQ.

I am thinking of replacing all the channels in the console with black 242 EQ- but I am not an electronics engineer, just an IT engineer- is it just a simple case of swapping the EQ cards out, or is it more complicated>?

Just swap the cards. 292 would need a pot change. Just pop it in and see if its good. That easy.

This has been covered before, if your channels have switched knob 'Filters In' they will act as true Black eq's, maybe.. if not, they will be as Keith Recycled Audio describes as 'Brown upgraded to Black'
