From VU to Plasma

Im thinking of exchange my VUs in one bucket to plasmas.

What cards etc do i need to make this happen (except the plasmas ofcourse)

You mean the cables that are now in each VU or is the cabling different?

well, the plasmas on my 4k have large ribbon cables that plug into each one... I don't know if they are the same as the VU meter version

You would need the large 82E58 Bargraph motherboard, that has the three daughter cards. This feeds the meters via the large ribbons

This normally sits at the back of the console in a large box. It would be very impractical to fit all this for a single bucket of 8 meters.

On a console with VUs non of this will be present, and I've also found that the 250v wiring is normally missing at the console end.

thanks for the help guys!

Yea my plan was to start with meters for at least drums and 2 buckets, seems like alot of fuzz though :(

either I make this a future plan and hoarding spares for it or maybe its best and cheapest to buy a complete kit if there is any

Sure is, I manage, but some things could be easier mixing a little visually too, when automating for example,  and when checking where i.e rooms are against kick snare and so on... the VU´s are pretty useless so I have always used the overload indicator as reference
