Time Code problem

My turn to ask for help.
Got a really strange problem with our 4K E with G computer upgrade and Motionworker. When mixing, using the Motionworker supplying timecode to the desk and to ProTools to lock to, we keep getting the desk losing code. That is, the EBU flag goes off but the tach keeps counting. It can either be a couple of seconds, or it can lose it for half a minute. Of course, this means the mix loses sync with tools. Sometimes, when you run the mix again, the EBU flag is missing from the beginning, and then comes on after 5 or 10 secs. This happens in Updating or just Playing the mix

Now the really odd thing is that if you cancel the mix, and then just hit PLAY, the EBU flag comes up and doesn't drop out (except for maybe a slight dropout of less than a second), then it will play for the complete 4 mins of the mix with no problems!

I've swapped both the Timecode and Tape Machine cards without any change in behaviour.

Anybody any ideas??

Maybe ssl doesn't know who is master/slave. I've used motionworker in the past when flying parts from one machine to another with offset.

If you are only using one machine/daw i'd drop motionworker for 2tools/konnector.

Did you get anywhere with this?

I'm also having random problems with my G+ and Motionwork.
I rather not give up the MW (or G+)because when it's works it's beautiful and such a great workflow.
I'm also having my MM1200 16T connected to it and I don't want to depend on PT all the times.

My problem is that the MW drops out of sync or freezes ca 2-3 times a day
doesn't matter if it's just Multitrack or PT or both running at the same time.
So I suspect either MW or SSL
I set up everything as requested in the MW manual.

Any Motionwork wizards out there?

Hi mg73,  No, I haven't managed to fix it yet, but I did find a work around. Removing the Tach wire inside the S29 25 way D connector on the back of the motionworker stopped the
Timecode from dropping out! 
OK, I now have an asterisk on the screen telling me the SSL is not getting tach, and of course when you hit rewind the numbers don't count down, but as
soon as you hit stop, the MW will output a burst of TC and the desk will update. Also when you GO TO MIX, everything is good.
The only thing I haven't checked yet is the actual power supply volts on the backplane motherboard. Although I was assured by George Gilbert (Ex SSL tech), that if the volts were wrong we'd notice with a lot of fader problems, which we don't have.

What are the first 20 settings in your MW? I think they should be the same as ours despite the fact we are not using any tape machines.
I took pictures of all the SSL setup pages before I changed the Working Copy Master disk, if you PM me an email address I'll send them to you so you can compare.

Yes I should check voltages as I use Ultimation and not VCA faders
probably I don't noticed fader problems that easy if the voltages are of.

We may be on different software versions, and I don't think ours are setup for serial machines, but otherwise we have more or less the same settings.
