Replacing on/off switch on 651/ center bucket

Has anyone ever had to replace the on/off switch in center bucket?

I have to replace the on/off switch for the 651 bucket because its loose.

Any suggestions out there for something sturdy?

I am also thinking of extending all of the bucket switches and resets to something easier to reach. Having to go behind the console and speakers is a pain for turning buckets on and off.

I've seen this in the past, but am wondering has anyone done it recently.

For the exact reasons you speak of, built my 'Switch and Trips' panel at hand hight behind the patch bay penthouse.

Think the idea is, the console would stay on 24/7, so you'd never need to reach this.

The switches do get dodgy! and you have to replace.

The original switch is from RS components, and priced about £15, but I use something that looks almost the same from Maplin!!! and it's worked perfectly :-)

Did you order a panel with the switches and resets on it or did you just build your own?

Also do you know the exact part no. for the switches?

We added an extra bucket and installed this and the cirtuit breakers in the existing panel. Ours is located under the former producer desk (now extra bucket).

With Atomic you turn the whole desk on and off with one switch

yes you could, but sometimes you only want to work on one section and leave the rest up.

sintech is right. The one I posted is a replacement part but should be the same switch. I ordered this one because I had to order other stuff through farnell. It's the same switch as the others in the console.

sort of, if its the one I think it is, they are made in china now and the housing is not as strong. Breaks much easier. Don't put as much torque on it as you might want to.

They don't call me gorilla hands for nothing!

To go back to the original post by TheMixFactoryNYC, if you are still considering extending the on/off switches and resets, you could consider fitting one or two of the CML Audio Power distribution cards (CML type PB1462). A photo and description can be found in the Sell/Buy section of our good forum, along with other CML cards that may be of use. For each power distribution output I have used a 2-pole circuit breaker to drive a relay. This ensures simultaneous disconnection of all 4 voltage lines under fault conditions, plus, the circuit breaker doubles-up as the bucket isolator switch. The breaker type used is similar to that found on the Ultimation power distribution panel. Trusting this is of interest.
