The Plugin Alliance / Brainworx G and J console plugins behave the closest to me. The Townhouse bus compressor (Plugin Alliance) or the Waves bus compressor are also very good for what they are.

Thank you so much for your replies. Logically, I thought the brand's own plugins would be the best, so I bought the channels and the bus compressor. I also asked the AI to find the best recommendations, and it pointed to Brainwors, so I'm doing tests to see if I can get good results.

I have used most of the SSL channel plugins over the years. I have been gravitating to the latest actual SSL plugins. I really like the latest SSL G channel plugin that was released last year. I also like the waves EV2 and If I am doing needing DSP, as I have Pro Tools HDX system, the Brainworks SSL plugins are great.

Hope that helps.

All of the faders are working, so its not a problem.
I just want to know where it is.
I checked the fader bus card, there are no jumpers, looks clean.

I am also wondering, i couldnt measure any voltage on the pins where the jumper should be.
0volts.

Thanks,

That only bypasses the 03 MPX card if not in use. Computer still needs to be bypassed for VCA to work.

I have seen instances where E13 VCA cards have had wire jumpers installed to bypass the computer.
It could be there, on the channel mother board, back plane....lots of places.

Is this even a problem that you are trying to correct, or just for your own curiosity?

Anthony.

Check the soldered in jumper wire links under the VCA (13) card on every channel modules. They need to be in 1 position when there are recall cards and the other position when the recall cards are removed. They my have been changed?

Thanks, great Info!

Still weird. The S16E cables from the Fader Bus Card to the upper Bus Card are installed.
None of the S14E Cables are installed.
Cannot find any Jumpers for the Channel Fader.

Maybe this has something to do with my click and pop problem when I cut the LF...

Is there another spot for Jumpers?

No Multiplexer Cards installed.
The Console had a TR system, but that was removed and sold before I bought the Console.

Thanks,
Tilmann

I don't have a full SSL 4k but do have two Rhodes Audio Design racked 4000 channels to compare to in my studio. There are lots of emulations out there and I have many of them. The ones that get used the most here are the Waves CLA Mixhub and UAD 4K channel. That said, I sometimes wish I had more hardware channels or even a small desk like you do!

Typically you need a 50way jumper on each bucket to bypass the computer if not in use.
This is normally installed at the DL panel, however I see yours in installed direct to the fader bus card which is fine. You may not have all the 50way S14E cabling installed.

Depending on how your console was configured (or modified), it can also be in a few other places, if 50way ribbons are not installed. In a really simple console build, I'll install the jumper under the upper bus card (S16E), using a 20way plug, which avoids installing the S16E cabling, and S14E cabling.

However, by pure dumb luck, if you have muliplexer cards installed, the multiplexer card defaults to a state that allows VCA signals to pass on every channel, and then only the VCA groups need the jumper installed.

Hi All!

doing some maintenance on my console and was wondering (also my tech) if there must be Computer Bypass Jumpers on every Fader Bus card?
In the schematic it says 'to computer' and 'from computer'. Also in the Service Manual on the 'Channel Fader and VCA Group System schematic' it looks like there must be Jumpers on every Board...?
I don't have a computer but all of my Faders are working (VCAs have a jumper installed).

Sorry for that (maybe obvious) question, but couldn't find much info about the Channel Fader Bus Card Jumpers.
Only the VCA Groups were mentioned.
Just wanna be sure.

Thanks,
Tilmann
