The Cue send switches are a little tricky, but once you get going, it takes me about a half hour to replace an entire channel worth.

Constant scratchiness, dropouts, and distortion on the headphone sends. They're just old, dirty, and unreliable. I did a pass of contact cleaner and deoxit which gave a little relief, but for the most part I still find them going bad.

I'm tempted to hardwire the switches to the "on" state and just use the knob position for the send. It seems to be a harmless and easily reversible mod. Is there any reason I should avoid this?
The click sound and feel is satisfying, but a clean and reliable headphone send would be even more so.

« Last post by radardoug2 on February 28, 2024, 09:13:59 PM »Put it all together with no voltage on, and multimeter it for shorts. Also multi the card by itself. Use the smoke to focus on those tracks.

That really surprised me because I checked multiple times that the orientation was correct, that the correct extender card was used, and that the 651 card was oriented the correct way in the edge connector.
I checked for continuity but at this point, I think there might be a short on the extender itself.
I'm looking into making a new set of extenders because the ones I have access to are very beat up.

Also it is possible to reverse the ribbon cables.
