While not repairing stuff...
« on: February 18, 2013, 12:12:42 PM »
...you propably have a hobby of somekind.

Here's mine: Scalextric slot car racing.

Our race track is mobile, in means it has different layout everytime we put it together, which is ones or twice in year. This one is called Spread Circus. Both lanes has lenght of 44.2 meters and laprecord at time of writing this  is 13.140 seconds.

Circuit is powered with overkill Variacs followed by 230VAC to 16VAC step down trafos, and rectifiers.

The cars are spending more time in pit than on the track

My car chassis removed. Loads of blue sticker acting as ballast.

Tires and especially their diameter is very important factor. Cars has tiny magnet and adjusting it as close track as possible is essential. If magnet is too close, it stucks all the time and you loose all your speed. Very nice downforce simulator. Here's a lathe for tires.

Happy holidays, we drive until next sunday  8)

Hi guys!

This time we made a video that shows what slot car racing is all about.
Track is so far as I've heard the first and only digital to analog model as original fictional track is found from Gran Turismo game series.
Total lenght of the track is 38.4 meters.

Put your pedal to the metal and hang on!
