I`ve noticed tech`s tend to use these gold can panasonics, I`ve tried to find these in different values but only a very few show up in the places I usually buy components as Farnell, Elfa (Sweden)
Anyone know of a distributor that holds a larger part of this serie (whatever its called)

Are you talking about Panasonics "FC" series?
If so Digikey is the place I buy all mine for SSL recapping

Normally I use Panasonic FC series on audio path such as:
http://uk.farnell.com/panasonic/eeufc1v101/capacitor-radial-35v-100uf/dp/1848449
and FM series on power rails such as:
http://uk.farnell.com/panasonic/eeufm1h221/capacitor-radial-220uf-50v/dp/1219481
remember to to a line up of the channel after wards...

Yes, I don't have a manual at hand but there is a procedure to follow to get the channel set up correctly (especially EQ)

Yeah, it's really trimming the Q points.
Only really noticed really massive differences when recapping very early Tantalum E series, the EQ tends to be very fierce, and self oscillating. But the Q points can be pulled in quickly, even by ear.

if you are ordering bigger quantity of electrolytic capacitors and other stuff i always found "Mouser" to be cheaper than
"Farnel" or "Rs components"...
-
Greetings,
Mouser is definitely cheaper these days, didn't used to be. They've also added THAT components as a distributor, so you can get VCAs from them. I've also found Arrow Electronics to be a inexpensive source for some things, they have a much more limited range of components, but what they do have is nicely priced. Great for me as standard shipping is FedEx and its two days ground from Reno Nevada to Portland Oregon.

Hi all.
I have to recap all our 242 "Black" eq cards total 24 of them. As a side note, 32 pcs of 292 eq's are all fine.
Does anyone have Line Up Procedure for these eq's, escepially 242? I really would like to know how it should be done :)
Thanks in advance,
Paavo

Hi!
Any nice alternatives for Panasonic FC series?
Mix bus card 26 has 2200uF/6.3V but FC series package is too high to fit in.
Cheers,
