Losing patch points.

I had two patch points that were working for moths just stop working within the last week.

They half work if you don't plug the cable all the way in. As soon as you do though it cuts out?

Although SSL patchbay jacks can fail (which is very rare in my experience), I reckon you have a component failure somewhere within the console probably involving a chip (5534?) or cap.

It would be helpful to know what function has failed (sounds like a stereo thing!) so that other and more technically able people can answer this. I'm quite certain that it is nothing to do with the patchbay especially as two jacks are not working properly.

In the thousands of SSL Mosses and Mitchell patchbay jacks I have wired or tested over 30 years, I have only had up to 5 failures when the patch was wired. Sometimes, by taking the jacks out and re adjusting the two screws holding the whole thing together, it could be a simple fix but I doubt this is your problem.

Jim's right, it's most likely not the patch but the destination.

I'd get the other end of the patch: either the channel on an extender /or 651 Raised, and with a multimeter check continuity from the end of a bantam lead, through the patchpoint, and on to the destination.

Chances are, as Jim pointed out, the other end is most likely a 5534 de-balancing (or balancing in the case of a sending patchpoint)

Swap out the 5534, and you'd be very unlucky to not solve the issue.

The Multitrack send, look at this IC, I don't know your 82e11 card rev, and I'm going by quite an early E-series Service manual, in the case of this it would be T3 on the Group card (82E11)

Regarding the Stereo Channel, T1 for Left and T2 for Right on the card marked 82E201

The 11 card is the E series Group card it's 94 card for G series, on every Channel/module/611
