SSL 4k Bus Comp build with original cards
« on: August 07, 2023, 03:19:15 PM »
Hi guys,

in 2019 I purchased this beautiful custom SSL bus compressor, built from the original cards, through Reverb.
The seller did not build it himself. Apparently it was built by an SSL engineer named George Gilbert.
Does he frequent the forums or does anybody know how to contact him?
I would find it nice to know more about the device.

Best,
Christian

Unfortunately George is not part of the forum!
Beautifully built unit!

I have known George Gilbert since 1980 when we were both at SSL and will contact him about the compressor unit. He doesn't work with AES anymore but still does lots of SSL maintenance.
He is not on here as he would probably be asked to many questions and doesn't have the time to deal with stuff.
Message me your contact details and I will pass them to him.
