Print your scribble strips!
« on: May 11, 2014, 10:57:45 AM »
I'm posting this in mix techniques as it helps me to stay organised during my mix. Channel Numbers printed in BIG letters help me to find a specific channel faster, and adding the name of the instrument really speeds up my work when I'm "in the zone of mixing".

Also, I have a standard layout/routing on my console that I almost never change, so I just KNOW where to find each instrument or FX.

You get the idea...

This is what the printed A4 page looks like. The font I'm using is "Optima Bold", it's the original font the current SSL Logo is using since the mid 80s (anybody know the exact date?).

I am printing these on thick Glossy Photo Paper and use a Glue Stick to put them on the console scribble strips. The Glue can easily be rubbed off with Alcohol, and I've stopped writing on the strips with a marker. Too damn messy!

If you have the latest version 5.2 of Pages for Mac OS X,  grab the documents attached. You can just change the names and/or copy elements over from one channel to another.
