The largest SSL recording console ever made

Hehehe, we'd all love to see a pic of that 9K  :)

I'm happy to say, one of the smallest 'factory built' 4k's is the pride of my collection.

1983 4002E In Raven Splatter:

Matt Sartori:
Andy is it actually original?

Mattia.

BTW one of my collegue from Funky is going here to mix his album:
I wrote verner an email ages ago but he never got back to me, the 4000B is probably one of the very few left around.

Mattia.

sintech:
Hey Mattia, yes it's an original console, built to promote SSL in the USA during the early 80's

jimlfixit:
Andy and Mattia. Yes, Andy's pride and joy small version (!) was indeed made by SSL as a demo jig. I think it was constructed to compare the different types of eq at the time as both the East and West coasts of the US had their own preferences hence there being an alternative to the original 02 Eq (was it a 242?).

Regarding the huge Brunei 120 channel 9k, I have recently heard from a good friend of mine, also an ex Director at SSL, that this console may have been broken up and sold as smaller sections. Shame, as it may never be seen or used in its original state again!
