What about having a Repair/Tech meta or corner where we can post all this kinda of stuff? Tut's and when people solve their issues...

only replaced a few, but basically same as pots - remove heat-shrink, unsolder wires, old switch out, new one in, new heat-shrink, solder back on..
don't unsolderthe wires for pots or those switches at the pcb, getting the cables back in place can be a bitch.

Answer:

"1. Jack up car.
 2. Remove engine.
 3. Pull new engine from crate.
 4. Install in car.
 5. Open beer."
 

**EDIT** Before I start razzin too many people... Maybe I should explain this is using a cheaper after market switch that needs a bit of modify to fit??? Or was that already assumed?

it might not seem like it, but it's really straightforward.
just a switch that's connected to the pot with a metal brace.
think i might've unscrewed the pot first so there's a bit more room, it's been a while.
you cut open the clear shrink tubing, unsolder the wires (remembering where which one goes!), take the switch out of the brace, put a new one in, making sure that the little metal pin from the pot is hooked into the top.
put a new heat shrink over the wires, solder onto the new switch, shrink the tube, screw pot back in.
not much more to it - tedious but very easy, like most things on 4ks.

ah, just read the bit about the non - original switch.
the right switches are still available, i think recycled audio carries them.
how many do you need? i think i have around a hundred here, but i also like to keep a good stock of spares.
if it's only a few let me know.
