Title: Question About Custom SSL Plasma Tubes

Hey Guy's! As you know I plan on purchasing an SSL 4k or 6k when I find a new place and I'll be updating my other thread once I purchase the console. In the mean time, I had a question about the 4k and 6k plasma. From reading other threads on this forum, it's clear to me that the companies which use to manufacture the SSL plasma's are either no longer selling them or no longer in business.

My question is, would it be possible to simply hire someone to custom build a replacement plasma tube for the console? For example, I was doing some research and this guy seems to create custom plasma tubes (not specifically for consoles): http://billsplasmatubes.com/ (http://billsplasmatubes.com/)

I don't know much about the functionality of plasma tubes but in theory, would it be possible for someone to simply custom create a replacement plasma tube for the meters?

Hey. Yea just buy a console with VCA's and VU's. Forget about the plasmas. Only so many consoles for sale. You could of coarse buy one from Recycled or AES audio. They could build what you want.
