Title: 8k channels swappable with 4k?

 An associate of mine has a 8k G+ and we have a 4k G. We were talking about swapping modules so he and I could enjoy some different flavors . Are they swappable or are there some mods that must be performed. I know the 8k has the extra busses but I thought I read here somewhere that the extra busses on the 8k channel would not be available but otherwise it could be swapped. I'm also wondering if the same applies to stereo channels which he has many and we have none. Thanks guys!

I'm running a mixture of E series 4k, G series 4k, and 8k G+ all happily next to each other ..so it will work.

All stereo channels are identical electronically, E, G, G +, 4k. 6K, 8K

The design never got changed.

Group 1 turns into 9 or something correct?

You can't use Group 1-8 on the 8k, in a 4k console ..but easy to mod to back standard, as they've just had traces cut and mod wires to new destinations.
