Title: SL676E fader help. No volume unless at 100%

First, does this symptom make sense or has anyone seen this? Second, is there a schematic for the fader someplace?

Hey 👋

Swap out with another fader, if the problem persists it could be your VCA and not the fader. If the problem disappears then take the faulty fader and use a dmm (ohms) on pins 1 & 4 (If I recall correctly) move the fader and see if you have a change in resistance (nearly 0 to approx 2,4kohm). If not then check the wiring of the fader, and if your wiper is sitting properly on the tracks.

There is a schematic in the G Series service manual (if u don’t have it also available through the doc pages in the forum)

I have swapped the fader. The problem follows the fader. The resistance changes normally when slid back and forth.

Hi,

Just checking, are you seeing the correct resistance change between pins 1 and 4 AND between pins 1 and 2? (i.e. one going up as the other goes down?)

Also make sure the problem moves with the fader, not with the 10 way ribbon cable?

There's not much else that can go wrong with this!
