I've been studying Chris Lord-Alge's mixing workflow and noticed that he monitors the post-fader signal on the Plasma Meter of the SSL console.
On my SSL 4000 G+, when the desk is in Mix Mode, if I press the Direct button on a channel and the Ready Group button, I can see on the Plasma Meter (for channels **1 to 24**) that the more I send signal to the Stereo Bus, the more the plasmas level reflects this change.
However, this **does not work for channels 25 to 40** (the right side of the center section). I’d like to understand why this happens and whether there is a way to make it work for these channels as well.
Has anyone encountered this before or knows the reason for this limitation?
Thanks

Greetings,
I had a similar issue with my 4064G+.
That a G+ mod called "Group Cross Linking" and I believe it is done by a DL splitting the signal from busses 1-32 to channels 33-64.
I found a jumper DL below my patchbay that sends busses 1-32 to busses 33-64, i just moved it to the 33-64 buss out DL and it was sorted.
FYI- I have a external patchbay so it wasn't to hard to find.
Also, you could try to "hard patch" the channels that the direct out in not working on your patchbay. (Group Output to Multitrack Input).
That should work as well.
Good Luck!

Well, first of all, thanks TLA, I'm a big fan of your work and looking forward to meet you in some masterclass of yours.
Back to the topic: That did it! I love mixing in this "mode", the visual feedback is huge for me.
Thanks!!
