Title: SSL 612 test jig
Post by: Jdm5149 on March 10, 2026, 12:41:48 AM
Waiting on ssl 612 to be delivered. Any suggestions on what othe tools needed. I think it has original instructional manual also. Still gonna be awhile before I get my console out of storage and installed. Thinking of building a holder also to place channels in while testing. Hopefully I can start picking out problems before finally installing

You will need a + & - 18V. DC power supply to run the test jig & it also powers module. I run mine from a 2A power supply. It is enough power to run a SSL 4K & 9K modules. No phantom power.

K. Great. Gotta buy another or find one that’s in storage.. I’m thinking instructional manual will explain a lot. I’ve seen a video showing how Mark1 has the channel on a setup and connected to some sort of measuring program on a computer. Guessing a ociliscope.  After a year and a half of waiting at least I can start to see if these channels are going to be a problem

I would expect it is just the calibration manual, which is available in the groups files location

As mentioned in the email, it does not cover all the required tests or calibrations.

Anthony.

Well a totally different jig arrived. A sl613e with a totally different circuit board than pictured.  Even no manual. Wtf??  My console has 24 g 2 stereo 14 e brown and black.  Is this even useful ??  Doesn’t even power on with power supply that was given

Got it working.  Faulty power connector in unit.  Been told 613 is best so I guess I got lucky. lol !!  Building a wooden station to mount board and jig with power supply.  Still no manual but at least I can start and see how these channels light up !!  It’s been a year and a half since I bought and placed in storage.  Looking to move south soon so hopefully by July I’ll have console up and running. Any test pointers til then would be much appreciated.
