Title: SSL 6000 G grounding question

Hi there guys,

I'll be soon commissioning an SSL 6G console in my mixing room. In the meanwhile I've been prepping the room and the electrical installation necessary. I have a few doubts regarding grounding, can someone tell me what ground points will I be needing, besides the standard electric sockets grounding? Both at the console and psu+computer rack.

I suppose 6K is grounded in same way than 4K. One big(ger is better) grounding cable between console and computer. Simple as that.

So if I understood correctly, besides the standard power outlet grounding, I will just need a big ground cable that will interconnect a grounding point at the console to a grounding point at the computer's chassis?

Edit: well, that pic is about consoles grounding scheme. IIRC Service Manual shows external wiring.

That's a very interesting scheme indeed! Although you don't see the rack wiring. I have to get hand on that service manual... 

Where is located the ground point (pigtail) from where you feed the console? Is that "Chassis" indication at the rear center of the console that you see in that scheme?

By the way can someone kindly scan the service manual section that explains how you should wire the ground connections on the SSL (console+rack)? I'd be very appreciated!

Consoles grounding point is just below the patch (on the right hand in the picture.) There's no pigtail, it's just a bolt and a nut. At computer side it's marked as "Analogue Ground". IIRC there's same marking at the console also.

From what I understand from the schematics all the patch panels are also automatically grounded too correct?

Oh yes, patch is connected to the ground via Analgue Ground.
