Title: Are plasma meters fixable?

Curious about this... I have a few PPMs that aren't working, showing a thin line up 50% of the meter and I got to thinking, are these meters actually repairable? Do they run out of gas? is this what happens when they die? can they be refilled?

in my experience if the tube goes (and it does) that's the end of their life.
there are other things worth considering ie: the connector pins of the tube tends to get dirty and become high impedance after years in the field and that causes troubles.
also worth recapping (of course) and see if you get any improvements.

EDIT= check conductivity, CLEAN and RE SOLDER the pins off the tube into the 82E95 card...

it's quite a tricky one, I have seen a lot of GOOD techs swearing at the plasmas because they refused to work, but when they do work..they are simply great!
