8 x 5K unused SSL LCD meters, generally in an immaculate condition as you can judge from the picture. Also, these were sometimes fitted on other later SSL consoles. They were fitted to a console at SSL to test RFI emissions for a short while and haven't been used since. As I can not test them, they are sold as seen. They consist of:
1. 625074X3 rev 01 meter assembly.
2. 625078X2 rev 06 logic assembly?
3. 625072X5 rev 02 analog assembly?
I think they are mono meters as they were fitted in the centre section but not sure if they are VU or PPM.
I'm asking for GB£392 for all 8 (£49 each). As they use 2 x 10 and 1 x 26 way ribbon connectors, I may be able to find some suitable parts for these as well free of charge.

Maybe these are already gone.... but no harm asking, right ?
Can you tell me if these are mono PPM/Vu's, or stereo Vu's ?

Hi Helterbelter. I accidentally saw your recent reply as I don't normally look for responses on the forum so, thanks for that. I have now updated my original post to show more details and they are still for sale (I only discovered them again a few days ago!).
Contact me via my website if you are interested. I have my email address and phone number on the home page.

Just out of interest..
Here's the same 5K meters in an 8000G, this kinda looks strange! not to see the usual Plasmas.
The brochure explains these are assignable mono meters, so say if you want to see the cue sends, you just hit the relative button... likewise they can be A B C D stereo sends, and so on.

So the 5K meters would work in a 4K?
-
They need another set of rails to run the meters (5k style) and worst case, the 'meter in' pinout might have to be changed slightly like the 9K meters (to work 4k). But no reason why not.. SSL used this meter for the 9k

Interesting!

I have compared the pictures with both the stereo VU and the mono PPM/VU meters that I have. Both boardsets are the same, except for 1 resistor, and of course the Eeprom (or something similar) that is used. The yellow sticker on the Eeprom shows you whether its stereo VU or mono PPM/VU. I can see the resistor though, it tells me that the meter shown in the picture is mono.
But it could be that the mono meters are made in different scale readings..... Could it be these are specially made for a readout of RFI ?!? What does the sticker say ?
Anyway, I have digged up a few meters already, and I only need 4, not 8. So I will pass on these (sorry for your time).
But to help you a bit with the sale :
I think I have a schematic of the 85470 interface card of the meters somewhere.
If not, I'll draw one and post it here (it's a simple PCB with a just a few components). This card drives up to 8 meters. It needs -24v, -18, +18 and +5v (+5V is not really necessary).
With this board, Intensity can be adjusted with a simple pot. PPM/VU mode can be switched with a simple STDP switch, and you can also switch between normal PPM and fast PPM modes.
I use a seperate switching module for it with a few extra switchoptions and extra inputs. (SL544 meter switcher)
I also have the calibration and pinout documents of all 5K meters in digital format. Phase (SL575), mono PPM/VU (SL574), and Stereo VU (SL578). Schematics ?.... maybe in paperformat, maybe not.
Oh, just a sidenote, the lamps in the used 5K meters are usually dead. Without the lamps, the meters don't show anything. I replaced them with leds in mine.

Just a question :
I read that the LED replacement will often be brighter than the bulbs.
Which LEDs did you use as replacement ?
How did you do it ?
Which colour did you use ?
Are you satisfied with the result ?
Could you post some pics how it finally looked ?
Thanks
Matt
