Title: 4000G+ Keyboard Error **SOLVED**

Hey guys,

I'm getting a Keyboard Error on my 4000G+ console. Never seen this before. Just reseated all the connectors, and chips both in the computer and in board. Going back in to try to find the problem.

any suggestions?

I took the whole thing apart. I found brown sticky residue on the keyboards PCB, and some corrosion on some of the components. It looks like a client spilled some tea, or sugary drink on the keyboard.  >:(

 Hopefully I'll be able to clean it, and get it back up… if it hasn't fried anything already.

Check the 12V rail in the computer. The +12V.

Next time you get the message on the screen, check the LEDs on the computer PSU also as that might give something away.

I got this message a few times and then a few issues with the 12V rail on the computer. I swapped a regulator card over from a 48V regulator card in the  661 PSU.

Worth a try.

I ended up disassembling, and thoroughly cleaning the keyboard. Left it in my handy dandy dehumidifier over night, and when I came in the next day, it worked like new.

You'd be surprised how much gunk and other misc objects were in that keyboard.
