Title: So what is the real deal with the bulbs in the quad compressor and dim buttons?

I have heard some crazy stuff over the years. like the compressor won't work
with a led, burned out bulb or no bulb? or it won't sound right?! I have never
found that to be the case, but I have never tried a led in the compressor that
I can remember anyway, The dim seems to be another story but I don't think
on all desks, this 6K needs to have a bulb in the switch or it won't work. ???

and thats only the beginning!!

there is another bulb in the center section of a 6K that can cause  an oscillation to begin if not replaced, unfortunately I don't remember which one, sort of the lower right area, just buy a box and make sure they are replaced! It's very hf, you won't hear it, it'll just add noise and distortion. LOL

Oh that's beautiful! Are you thinking over in the 688 area?
And what is the story with the compressor and dim switch?
Just knowing about this sort of thing will help with general
troubleshooting.
