Title: SSL 4000 Mic Pre Upgrade

I was looking at the Pro Audio Design site and they had mentioned an SSL desk with upgraded mic pres. Does anyone know about this mod?

"Here we have a beautifully maintained and upgraded SSL 4056G/G+ that is truly one of a kind. It has been modified to sound much better than a stock SSL, especially mic pre's 1-24 (which beat out everything including API and Neve pre's in a blind shootout conducted by Greg Thompson.)"

Haven't heard about that kind of mod.
How your pre's are modified? Schematics? Pictures?

Mine aren't modified, but this has peaked my interest so I wanted find out if anyone knew about it.

Any idea how it sounds? It looks like it is a replacement card, am I correct on that?

I'd be guessing it fits directly on the E series, and gives a more G/G+ sound without changing the Gain Pots/Switches
