NE5534AP End of Life?

Hi Guys,
was ordering parts at Farnell.com and just wanted to buy some extra NE5534AP to restock them.
Farnell stated that they are no longer in production and can't be ordered.
I did a web search and found some TI Announcements and Forum Chats about the EOL of the 5534.

Digikey and Mouser have them in stock and they are marked as active, so I am a bit confused.
Does anyone know something more about it, or has some first hand information?

Thinking of buying a good bunch of them, just in case...

Thanks for the Rabbit Hole search while drinking my Sunday morning coffee.
I found this which is a reversal of the end of life announcement from Mouser on a billion ICs. The NE5534AP is at the bottom of page 31.

Why Farnell / Newark is no longer selling them is still a mystery.
It makes you want to go stock up.

that document is a relief!

Still thinking of ordering a few hundred of them.
Not too much money if you think of any other scenario...

Definitely gave me some moments of panic.

@walrus, that thread is mostly about 5532, but even worse that they seemed to change a lot in this IC.
