Blowing R24 Resistor on VCA/SOLO

Hi all,

This is my first post, thank you for all the information you have posted here. Im a newbie to the world of SSL but an opportunity came up for me to purchase a 48 channel 4000E series console that i couldn't refuse. The desk is in need of alot of love and care so you might see my name lurking round here for the next while

We dismantled the desk from the studio where it had been since 1985 and moved it to its new temporary home for the next while (my back shed)..

My plan is to clean the desk and recap all the channels and center section and go from there.

As i said im a newbie to the world of SSL so any help would be greatly appreciated,

I have pictures etc i might start a thread on if anyone is interested.

I cleaned the frame etc of the desk and put it all back together and powered it on for the first time since the move.
I noticed straight away R24  on the VCA/SOLO started smoking on some of the channels.. would anyone have any advice on what might be causing it?

which studio was this if you don't mind sharing?

hard to say, have you got all the ribbons in the right place? can you measure voltage around the area?

How's the console bipolar power measuring? are you running really hot (+/-20v)?
